Providing pastoral support to Piedmont Fayette Hospital patients and/or their families upon request, and is available to hospital employees for supportive counseling and referral. He or she also will be called upon to assist the Chaplain, and other Associate Chaplains, in on call duties, special events, memorials, holiday services or educational seminars, and support group meetings. The Associate Chaplain will stand in for the Chaplain when he or she is absent. He or she will cover all shifts when other spiritual care staff members are ill, on vacation, or attending hospital related educational seminars or functions during the year. One-year minimum pastoral experience, Master's of Divinity degree from an accredited seminary with a minimum of a one year residency program (4 Units) of Clinical Pastoral Education at an approved CPE institution. Ordination is required. He or she must receive ecclesiastical endorsement from their denominational governing body. Previous hospital experience is highly desirable. He or she must work well with others, possessing tact, discretion, and diplomacy. He or she must display good verbal and written communication skills. He or she must have the ability to use independent judgement, a self-starter. He or she must present themselves in a professional manner maintaining a well-groomed appearance. |
